Our expert research suggests that Reckitt Benckiser (RB) - maker of Vanish, Nurofen and Durex - has avoided paying $15.2 million of tax in New Zealand in the three years leading to 2016. That's $15.2 million that could have made a huge difference to our healthcare system, our education system, our transport system and our housing issues.
We took to Aotea Square in Auckland City to ask what you would do with a spare $15 million, and what you think our government could do with that same amount.
Oxfam is calling on the New Zealand government to do more to tackle tax avoidance - by closing loopholes in the outdated global tax system so tax rules are fair, transparent and consistently applied and to ensure our economies work for everyone, not just the fortunate few.
